Roman Road, situated at the heart of London’s East End in the borough of Tower Hamlets, has not been seen as an inspiring place to shop for many years owing to it being slightly out site of the capital’s traditional tourist belt.

However, in 2012 the reputation of the high street started to change thanks to the new management team appointed by the local council and the intervention of TV’s queen of shops Mary Portas.

The street has now undergone a makeover that resulted in attracting new businesses and new customers including tourist to the area. This combination has give the area a new least of life.

At the heart of Roman road is the market, situated on the oldest known trade route in Britain, the road to Colchester famously taken by Boudicea on her way to burn the Romans in London.

Both the market and the local shops have a good reputation as a open and friendly place to shop with lots of bargains to be had.
