The Leaning Tower of Pisa is one of Italy’s most popular visitor attractions and is also one of the forgotten wonders of the world. The tower is located in Pisa, a city in central Italy in the Italian region of Tuscany.

The tower was built in the Romanesque style and is famous for its leaning position. It is sometimes said that the slope of the tower has something to do with mystical powers, but the reality is that the tower leans because of the composition of the ground on which the tower was built.

Work started on the tower in 1173 and took also 200 years to complete. The eighth floor is the belfry, and is somewhat smaller diameter than the other floors. One of the main features of the tower is its 294 spiral stairs to the belfry.
